I'm back again with yet another question!! Sorry to bother everybody... I wanted to make a word for linguist as none is available and I think I've got it but wanted to check with *bows* our Lore-Mistress... Would it be... Laimaenas? as Lam = A language of a particular region or country and Laim would = Languages of regions or countries (I don't know if it would need to be plural, plus it looks a tad strange) also Maenas = Craft so together they would be... Laimaenas = One who's craft is languages? And (last thing I promise) Would I need to add a name suffix like -or, or -ben? Len hannon!!
(You had a bit of rogue code in there that had put an enormous scrollbar in the post, edited that out).
Ae now, this is an interesting one, let's have a look. My inkling is you're almost on the money, but instead of looking at the word Maenas, look at Maeron = artist which was also used to create 'sculptor', 'author', 'songwriter'. A 'Lammaeron' (or Lamvaeron once we mutate it properly) would be a 'crafter of tongues', or a linguist. Because this already has an ending -on in it you then wouldn't need to attach a 'doer' ending separately then either. That's my initial take anyway.
